Welcome to the KarMARTUSA PITCH Regatta
PITCH is an annual regatta held on Labor Day weekend on Bellingham Bay and has been a part of the Pacific Northwest racing scene for more than 30 years. The regatta is a Grand Prix qualifier and also one of the 48 Degrees North Top 25 Boats of Puget Sound events. The event draws boats from all over the Pacific Northwest including Canada.
In 2005, The Kelly O’Neil Cup, an award for the best overall team of three boats from the same participating Yacht Club, was established in the memory of Kelly O’Neil Henson, 1957-2004, a much beloved photographer of sailing and boating enthusiast. Her boat, “Smile”, was a fixture at sailing events locally as well as around the globe. Her photographs regularly appeared in 48 Degrees North, as well as other sailing publications. It is in her memory and honor that this award exists. Click here for more information.
PITCH is well known for its slogan “Come for the wind…stay for the party!” as Bellingham Bay can be quite blustery in the early fall season. In addition to two days of racing competition, the event features a welcoming party and Skippers’ Meeting on Friday evening, a Saturday evening dinner and live band and a Sunday evening raffle and Awards Ceremony.
